What are the responsibilities and job description for the ThriftWorks! Direct Support Professional (DSP) position at WACOSA?
Are you looking for a fast-paced, variety-filled, challenging retail position where you get to make a difference in people’s lives? ThriftWorks! is hiring a Full-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP). In this position the DSP is responsible for developing skills of clients so they can live and work in the community at their greatest potential. This includes, but not limited to, working alongside them at the cash register, accepting donations, handling customer relations, or stocking and pricing inventory.
This position is a variable schedule, 40 hour per week position with shifts scheduled between 8:00am – 7:00pm Monday - Friday, and Saturdays as scheduled between 8:00am – 4:30pm. Hours worked on Saturdays are eligible for shift differential of $2.25 per hour. Full-Time DSP’s are also eligible for WACOSA’s full range of benefits. The ideal candidate for this position would have the following qualifications and skills:
- Must have HS diploma or equivalent
- People skills, patience, organization, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be 18 years old, possess a valid Driver's License and insurable driving record
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with adult lifts and transfers.
- Experience working with disabled to special needs groups preferred.
