Position Details
The Engineering Aide position is to assist the Engineering Technician with construction staking, project inspection, surveying, quantity measurements, material testing, and other tasks related to the construction of road and bridge projects. This position also helps with gathering information needed for the design of future construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist in inspection of Construction Projects and assuring they are designed for federal, state and local specifications.
- Assists in performing material testing for construction projects.
- Assists in performing construction staking for active projects and performing preliminary survey to gather information for the design of projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assisting in bridge safety inspections and culvert evaluations.
- Drafting in CAD.
While these are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as part of their role with the County.

Education and Experience
- Attending or will attend a 2 or 4-year college
- Valid Class D Minnesota Driver’s License

Physical and Mental Requirements
This job typically requires sitting, standing, walking, crouching, feeling, manual dexterity, grasping, talking, driving, lifting, hearing, typing, and seeing. This position is generally heavy duty and may require the exertion up to 60 pounds of force and intermittently ability to lift, carry, push, pull and move objects up to 60 pounds.

Working Conditions
