Job Description
Here at Waffle House, we believe in “Homegrown Leadership,” which means every Manager in Operations begins their career as a single unit manager.
There is no restaurant simulator. We believe in learning by doing. On day one you’ll put on the uniform, walk into a real Waffle House restaurant and start working alongside a Training Unit Manager. You’ll do everything they do until it becomes second nature. During this period, you’ll receive extra training from senior managers as well. Here are some more details:
- Guaranteed 6-on-2-off rotating shift schedule (Work 6 days then you’re off 2 days)
- Begin at 6:30AM, end around 4:30PM daily
- 9-12 weeks management training, including:
- 3rd-shift rotations
- Waffle House University course work
- Practice management by running different restaurants before being checked into your restaurant
- Trainees become familiar with team leadership, business systems, hands-on culture
Qualifications
Waffle House (WH) Unit Operations Manager responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Oversee daily operations of the restaurant (production and service)
· Management of Profit and Loss (P&L) statements
· Establishes food cost controls; forecast restaurant needs
· People management (e.g., budgets, scheduling, inventory, coaching and development, etc.)
To be successful in this role, leadership is the solution. You will educate, train, mentor, and empower your team to achieve total production on the grill while adhering to food safety regulations; ultimately, you will tackle issues including strategy, execution, safety and risk mitigation, mission planning, team-building, and cultural transformation.

o Manager Training Program (MTP) - paid, three-months approx.

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Strong organizational leadership and exceptional communication skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines
· Ensure a high-degree of hospitality and customer service
· Comply with and enforce all company policies
· Ability to represent our brand in a professional, results-driven way
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, or culinary schooling is a plus
· Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality management is strongly preferred
· Successful completion of management training program required
