In this role you will help build an enjoyable, inviting and successful retail environment as a Retail Lead at Wag N' Wash! We are looking for hard-working, pet-loving, customer service-oriented individuals with retail experience to join our team.
What You'll Do
You will be responsible for learning and selling our products and services, supporting management in ensuring employees are on task, and ensuring all duties in various areas of the store have been carried out. You’ll also be working with our furry customers and their humans, so customer-service and sales skills are a must! Providing exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity during your work day, you will:
- Demonstrate product knowledge (which you will be trained on)
- Help identify neighbor needs, present and answer questions about our products and services, and recommend solutions
- Ensure all closing duties are executed by yourself and staff
- Place special orders, fill online orders, and notify customers when they are received
- Work with other team members in stocking product, cleaning tubs, and cleaning store
- Reconcile cash drawers and execute end of day reports
- Maintain a positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints
- Ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and contribute to the store’s profitability
- Complete all assignments as directed by leadership
- Set an example for the other team members in delivering fantastic neighborly service
- Communicate opportunities to improve community engagement or store performance to management
- Adhere to operational policies and procedures (cleanliness, animal safety and security) that ensure exceptional service is provided to our neighbors
- Learn and perform back office procedures – like making signs, updating price changes, quick counts, creating sales labels, checking email and voicemail, and creating documents
- Understanding and applying the company values at all times and ensuring that all team members learn and apply them as well
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- High school diploma or educational equivalent
- Previous retail experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong sales and customer service skills are a must
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules, work weekends and evenings, have reliable transportation, and be 18 years or older

- Previous retail lead/supervisor experience
- Pet industry experience
- Exemplary comprehension and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with pet parents on their concerns, wants, and needs
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as the ability to collaborate with other team members when necessary
- Strong motivation and desire for personal success, continually learning about Wag N' Wash as a brand, as well as our products
