WAGGLE GOLF | Assistant Store Manager, Community Engagement
Waggle Golf is seeking an enthusiastic and personable Assistant Store Manager, Community Engagement for our new Coralville, IA location. This role combines traditional retail responsibilities with opportunities to build community through localized social media, events, and partnerships. While most of your time will be spent on the sales floor delivering exceptional customer service, you will also assist in managing daily store operations and take the lead on community-driven initiatives.
This position will report to the Store Manager and collaborate with the Corporate Brand Experience and Marketing teams to execute specific activities.

Sales Floor Responsibilities (85%):
- Foster brand loyalty by providing a welcoming and memorable shopping experience for customers
- Replenish product on store floor per merchandising standards and participate in general upkeep of store
- Become a product expert and proactively provide assistance to customers
- Process transactions via the point-of-sale register system
- Support the initiatives of the management team to drive sales and client engagement
- Assist in the execution of store marketing efforts including visual merchandising and customer activations
- Capable and willing to perform opening and closing tasks in the store with the potential to carry store keys
- Support the Store Manager in maintaining efficient daily operations
- Other duties as assigned
Community Responsibilities (15%):
- Ideate and execute engaging content for the store’s Instagram account that showcases the Waggle brand, our product offerings and highlights local community interests. Consult with the corporate team as needed to ensure adherence to brand standards and for access to relevant professional imagery
- Identify collaboration opportunities with local businesses and organizations to enhance brand awareness and boost sales, partnering with the Brand Experience team to bring these initiatives to life
- Support the Event Coordinator in executing in-store events and activations, acting as the primary point of contact at the store both pre-event and on-site
- Act as a brand ambassador during events, creating positive interactions with customers and partners
Required Qualifications
- 1 years of retail experience or similar customer-facing role
- Experience using social media platforms, especially Instagram, to create and share compelling content
- Confident and comfortable engaging with customers and the community
- Capable of working independently and taking proactive action
- Strong multitasking skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office tools
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
- Informal leadership experience, such as mentoring, training, or serving as a “keyholder” in a retail or similar environment
- Previous experience coordinating in-store events, community activations, or other promotional activities
- Passion for sports (golf is a bonus!)
- Sense of humor, team-player mentality and willingness to tackle new ideas head on
Other relevant criteria:
- This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 32 hours per week
- In the absence of the Store Manager, this role will lead daily store operations and team coordination
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays and keep an agile work schedule to cover events and staffing issues when needed
- Physical Requirements:
o Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift
o Ability to lift 50 lbs on an occasional basis
o Ability to reach and pull product down from overhead shelves
o Comfortability using a ladder
- Travel Requirements:
o Ability to travel by motor vehicle off-site at least once per month. Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and meet the criteria to be an approved driver.
