Description
Waggoner Engineering is seeking a Business Development Manager in Baton Rouge, LA to take over a mix of existing clients and new client acquisition. To excel in this role you should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads.
Business Development Manager Responsibilities:
- Work with the Marketing Team and Project Delivery Teams coordinating and completing RFQs and RFPs throughout the State.
- Meet with Louisiana Area Mangers, Client Managers, and Project Managers frequently to ensure business development priorities are aligned.
- Responsible for developing Louisiana’s capture plan.
- Develop a detailed marketing strategy for Louisiana based on market research and company data.
- Maintain and keep our opportunity database updated.
- Will manage the teams responsible for delivering RFQs and RFPs in Louisiana tracking deadlines, form submittals, and relevant details.
- Will be responsible for tracking and coordinating all charitable and campaign contribution efforts ensuring we are targeting markets in accordance with our plan.
- Develop marketing budget.
- Coordinate strategic services, identifying and applying for grant opportunities for our clients at the Federal and State levels.
- Target, coordinate, and attend industry leading conferences connecting clients with projects and delivery teams.
- Coordinate client focused corporate functions that deliver awareness of Waggoner’s capabilities to a larger audience and reinforce existing relationships.
- Serve to bring support to existing client managers and project managers by leveraging existing client relationships.
Business Development Manager Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Louisiana infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
- Experience in sales, marketing or related field.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Capable of heavy administrative skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Must be very detailed and organized.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
