Waggoner Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Lead Civil Designer for our office in Baton Rouge, LA!
The Lead Civil Designer will work independently with project team to create design drawings, layouts, reports, and CADD products to meet the project requirements. Knowledge of functional areas of civil engineering including sewer and water design, site civil, stormwater design, roadway design, right of ways, transportation planning, bridges, and field work. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D and knowledgeable of MicroStation. ArcGIS is a plus.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
Essential Functions
- Analyze topographic data, create project models in CAD, prepare detailed technical drawings of various construction projects, assist in development of budget requirements, including studies related to civil engineering projects.
- Review construction plans for compliance with design specifications.
- Assist in development of material specifications; determines quantities and cost estimates of projects; and research records to determine existing project conditions.
What you'll need:
Required Education and Experience:
- 2- year course in drafting design and/or college degree
- Certification as a CADD Professional is preferred
- 8 years of related work experience, preferably in the civil engineering, survey, or mapping fields. Experience must include preparing design drawings, plans, sections, and details.
- Experience leading teams of Designers is strongly preferred.
