Job: Pipe Layer
Travel: Regional, VA sites
Job Summary: We are currently looking for Pipe Layers to join our Heavy Civil team. This position will support Williamsburg, VA project as well as our VA sites. You will report to direct field supervision, and assist in completion of the job related to pipe duties.
Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned company with offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia. As a heavy civil contractor, Wagman is a nationally recognized leader in the industry. Core competencies include: design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Carry, load, unload and stack materials.
- Set up lasers and shoot grade
- Dig with pick and shovel.
- Assist in installing pipe
- Shovel, rake, spread and vibrate concrete into place.
- Climb embankments and ladders to carry material to various work sites on project as needed.
- Jackhammer, jumping jacks
- Clean up project site of debris.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
- Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
- It also requires the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height—and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.
