The Forklift Operator is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Loading and unloading freight efficiently, accurately and in a safe mannerStacking product in proper storage areas using the required equipmentRotating product according to the customer's requirementsEnsuring the integrity of the inventory of customers and assisting / leading physical inventoriesPerform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing or repacking projects as neededAccurately pick and assemble orders for shipmentSafely operate material handling equipmentIdentify damaged, lost or missing product and notify warehouse leadership immediatelyComplete daily forklift inspections for all material handling equipmentResponsible for placing unsafe or out of service material handling equipment in proper location and notifying Warehouse Leadership to request necessary repairs immediatelyMaintain a clean, neat and orderly work areaAssist in maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse by conducting daily operations in accordance with safe working practices in compliance with state, local and federal regulations, and laws governing business operationsInteract with warehouse management, warehouse personnel, customers, vendors and the other employees / guests in a professional mannerComplete required records, reports and daily paperworkIncluding other duties assignedQUALIFICATIONS :
Education - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experienceExperience - minimum of 2 years of experience using powered industrial trucks or similar equipment; roll clamp experience a plus!Knowledge / Experience / SkillsMust be able to read, write and understand basic English
Basic math, counting and computer abilitiesStrong communication skillsDemonstrate initiative, self-starter, reliable, follow thru and team work skillsBe able to use of RF scan guns, tablets and warehouse management system technology aptitude required. Experience with similar devices and processes preferredCertifications : - Forklift Certification will be given after being trained and testedPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Ability to stand, sit, squat, crawl, bend, twist and / or kneel for up to 12-hour periods of time and repetitivelyCapability to navigate through narrow, confined spacesWork near or on top of sloping, uneven and / or slippery surfacesExposure to varying temperatures : heat, cold, wet, damp, draftyPossible exposure to areas with high noise levels that may require hearing protectionUse hands and fingers to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weightsUtilize muscles to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects up to 50 poundsWagner celebrated its 75th Anniversary in October 2021.
