What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent / Buyer position at Wagner Service Solutions, Inc?
Job Function:
Schedules and coordinates production and workflow in grind lines.
Essential Functions:
· Creates and monitors monthly grind master schedule using computer software.
· Reviews orders, sales, forecasts, and cycle frequency to schedule part run.
· Reviews and sorts customer orders by like or similar components to decrease setup time for changeovers and to promote efficiency of grind line operations.
· Collates and issues shop papers to/for production including general overview of production schedules, material releases, ring tickets, shop floor traveler, grind tickets, sorting records, etc.
· Advises grind line on number of work shifts needed to meet production schedule and timing for setup and preventive maintenance, issues production rates.
· Research discrepancies to reconcile inventory on closed orders; troubleshoots inventory and systems errors relevant to production planning.
· Orders raw materials (rings, balls, cages, etc.) from vendors.
· Writes up and communicates Purchase Order to vendor.
· Reviews and analyzes spreadsheets detailing data on orders and usage to determine raw material needs.
· Reviews/adjusts forecasting and manufacturing plans in relation to vendor orders.
· Maintains and collates order files.
· Calculates and adjusts data to establish final variant (considering forecast, stock, and cycle frequency).
· Collates file to include final variant documentation, special project authorizations, order notes, work release, sequence lists, ring and grind tickets, and sub-assembly tickets.
· Stores file in conformance with established filing procedures and methods.
· Repairs/generates and reviews customer service availability report to determine if goals of stock availability and reliability meeting customer promise date are achievable.
· Distributes report and confers with planning personnel to resolve reliability miss (failure to meet customer promise date).
· Generates weekly report on all customer reliability misses, document report with code indicating reason for miss.
· Analyzes future customer service misses to ensure forecasts of stock availability and customer reliability is within 5% tolerance.
· Plans and sequences sub-assembly activities in grind channel using MAPICS and other computer databases; issues release and establishes global order.
· Adjusts production plans based on sales forecast of parts-family history and downturns.
· Addresses customer service questions and complaints regarding grind-line products/orders.
· Discusses manner or means to resolve problems.
· Maintains/updates order booking system.
· Assigns order to basic family.
· Reviews failure reports to determine reason for lack of booked promise date.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Mgt or 3-5 years related inventory mgt experience preferred.
· Must have proficient computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office applications
· APICS Certification a plus
· Experience in Planning Systems
· Logistics – Data Quality, and Transportation personnel

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 per hour
