Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, as well as excellent communication skills to facilitate interactions with pet owners and veterinary staff.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update client information in the database.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, medications, and pet care.
- Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
- Assist veterinary staff with basic animal handling during examinations or treatments.
- Provide clients with information on pet care, medication administration, and follow-up procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Educate clients on veterinary services, including preventive care, laboratory tests, and critical care options.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal-related field is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and animal husbandry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for providing excellent pet care and customer service.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in a clinical environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing records and appointments.
- Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
