What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groom Tech / Dog Bather position at Wagsworth Manor Pet Resort?
Wagsworth Manor Pet Resort, located in Malvern, PA, is seeking high-energy, animal-loving professionals to join our team for both Full Time and/or Part-Time Groom Techs! We are the area's premier pet care facility and provide "a luxury retreat for the furry elite" through our high-quality Pet Boarding Dog Daycare, Pet Grooming, and Dog Training services.
Our culture is one of high standards, professionalism, and an unrelenting commitment to providing the best experience for our guests. The Groom Techs work closely with the Groomer by completing each guest’s requested spa service and making each guest look their best!
Shift time is 6:50 am – 3:30 pm
Groom Tech Responsibilities include:
- Provide an attractive pet bath and basic grooming needs that meet the client's expectations and is appropriate for the pet type.
- Basic grooming includes bathing, brushing, drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning.
- Observe dog's coat conditions and recommends appropriate treatments and remedies based on the needs of the pet.
- Manages own grooming workload and schedule to ensure departure times are met and clients are notified in advance of unavoidable delays.
- Ensure grooming station is stocked with supplies, tools, cleaned, and ready for use.
- Maintains the safety and comfort of each guest during their bath/groom.
- Follows safety procedures for pets and staff at all times.
- Communicate with management any inventory, equipment, guest concerns.
- Follow all processes and procedures regarding dog handling.
- Supports with conducting swims with dogs, overseeing safety in the pool area, dry and brushing out dog
Qualifications:
- Experience with all different breeds and sizes of dogs
- Ability to stand for long periods at a time
- Must be able to lift dogs up to 75 lbs
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
Prior bathing and grooming experience is a plus, however, on-the-job training is also provided!
