Summary
We are seeking a Kennel Assistant to join our team at Wahiawa Pet Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of animals in our facility, ensuring they are comfortable and healthy during their stay. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting our veterinary staff and enhancing the overall experience for our furry patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel area to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations and treatments.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians or technicians.
- Help manage front desk duties as needed, including greeting clients and answering phone calls.
- Ensure all supplies are stocked and ready for use in the kennel area.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or working in a veterinary clinic is preferred.
- Strong understanding of pet care practices and animal behavior.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
