Engineering Supervisor

Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and experience engineering leader to fill the role of Engineering Supervisor - Blades located at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

This position oversees blade engineering team and is responsible for promoting the effective and efficient use of people, machines, materials and information establishing flow to achieve new standards of safety, quality, delivery and cost in product manufacturing and customer service. Additionally, this position will be a major contributor to lead implementation of advance lean and agile manufacturing practices following Wahl Operations System approach to continuously improve standards, both within the value-streams and throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, including time reduction, waste minimization, and quality enhancement, and lead the implementation of improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of engineers & technicians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and developing their skills to achieve project goals.
• New Product Introduction: Collaborate with design engineering & New product development to ensure smooth transition of new products into production, including process development, tooling design, and production launch.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the production process, investigating and resolving quality issues, and implementing corrective actions.
• Cost Control: Analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to optimize production efficiency.
• Production Planning: Work with production planning teams to ensure production schedules are met, optimizing resource allocation and material flow.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and procedures within the manufacturing environment, promoting a culture of safety awareness.
• Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and make data-driven decisions to improve performance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5 years of industry engineering experience, with at least 2 years in technical staff management experience.
• 3-D modeling/design experience required; experience in NX CAD system preferred.
• Excellent understanding of part design and manufacturing processes for plastic parts, stamped and machined metal parts.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and multi-tasking skills.

• Proven team skills and ability to maintain internal and external relationships.
• Ability to lead teams, effectively delegate while meeting project deadlines.
