Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and results oriented individual to join our team as a Sourcing Assistant / Buyer at our Global Headquarters in Sterling, Illinois.

The Sourcing Assistant / Buyer will be responsible for supporting supplier sourcing and category management duties : assessing current end-to-end sourcing operations, implementing process improvements to ensure value-add and aligned sourcing activity, supplier relationship management, negotiations, new supplier and materials development, risk mitigation and building strong / supportive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Sourcing Assistant / Buyer will support Sourcing and Operations by initiating requisitions and issuing Purchase Orders outside the scope for Direct Materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Assist Category Managers in driving strategic supplier initiatives including supplier selection, development, consolidation, and platforming methodology.
Assist in cross-functional global sourcing projects including new supplier development, new material trials and other related to assigned categories.
Generate Purchase orders for equipment, PPAPs, samples, and other necessary support for Operations.
Work closely with internal customers / stakeholders to understand priorities, timing, and strategy of key business requirements.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all sourcing expectations are met.
Identify and take proactive action on possible material shortages, working closely with all internal stakeholders to ensure complete alignment for resolution.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Support Category Managers in category products / markets, supplier input costs and their potential impact on company performance categories domestically and globally.

Work with Category Managers to drive the supply base to continually develop and implement process improvements and provide meaningful value to the company.

Partners cross-functionally with stakeholders to ensure end-to-end collaboration and alignment.

Assist Category Managers to ensure supplier agreements, pricing, processes, and quality meet or exceed business requirements.

Assist Category Managers in creation of Purchase Orders to support non-direct material requirements, i.e. PPAP orders, sample orders, CapEx, Operational Purchases, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain operations, finance or other related to business requirements preferred

Minimum 1-3 years assisting in strategic category management / sourcing / procurement

Project management and communication skills

Ability to be proactive and persistent in a fast paced, multi-dimensional environment.

Ability to build collaborative relationships across many functional areas.

Ability to respectfully challenge status quo where appropriate, as supported by well-researched data and effectively articulate how each case will positively affect the company.

Strong "follow up" mind set and attention to detail.
