Hours of Operation: 8:30 am - 2:00 pm Monday-Thursday
- Opportunities to assist with home visits for additional hours.
- Plan and present coherent instruction that is adapted to the learning abilities of each student.
- Create a classroom environment of respect and rapport, establish a culture for learning, and manage student behavior equitable and fairly.
- Be a supportive and cooperative member of the staff.
- Attend professional development and training as requested/required which may include travel.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when representing the District.
- Determine the skills and abilities of assigned support personnel and delegate duties to provide the most effective learning opportunities for students.
- Complete required records in a timely manner.
- Willingness to travel to and from home visits and to be in family homes preferred.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Perform program responsibilities in accordance with statutes, administrative rules, policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
- Washington K-8 Teaching license is required.
- Bilingual/Billiterate is required.
- An endorsement in ELL or Bilingual education is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of both federal and state Migrant Education requirements as well as current best practices in the field is essential.
- Prior experience in a similar Migrant Education program is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills, being able to relate to students and adults, flexibility.
- Experience and/or Knowledge of language development, reading, math instructional strategies.
- History of reliability, dependability, and punctuality.
- Computer skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Be professional in action and appearance.
- Preference extended to candidates available for the entire length of assignment.
- Passing required State and FBI background checks.
- Valid Washington Driver's License and insurance if required to drive to home visits
