Shift Hours : 6 : 00am - 2 : 30pm
POSITION SUMMARY
The individual responsible for this role will participate in the production and / or packaging processes of various manufactured products. The Packer position serves as a supportive role for multiple areas within the distribution process, which may include quality control and assembly, among others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform packaging operations based on customer ordersEffectively operate packaging machineryEnsure timely completion of packaging ordersClean machines and work area at the end of each shiftGenerate and submit daily reports on work order completion to the supervisorManually load bags and cartons onto pallets as necessaryModify packaging and weigh bags to meet customer specificationsCarry out production tasks such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, labeling, and sortingPrepare labels for shipment in accordance with work orders and customer requirementsVerify label accuracy in terms of quantityNotify the supervisor of any shortagesAdhere to packaging guidelines and accepted methods / practices for labeling and shippingMaintain product stock in the work areaOrganize work orders and ensure they correspond accurately to the labeled itemsRead work orders and verify that the materials pulled for packaging match the requirementsConfirm the alignment of all numbers with the work orderMake necessary adjustments to work orders if there is a shortage of materials, based on the work order specificationsParticipate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill developmentComply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety-conscious cultureFollow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environmentUndertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by managementQUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)
Preferred : High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; 1 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrates strong problem-solving abilitiesCapable of following instructions and responding to management directionDetail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environmentHas the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsPossesses effective verbal communication skillsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Standing Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary positionWalking, Reaching and Handling Must be able to frequently move about inside the warehouse to access product and machinery, etc. Must be able to stand and walk 60% of time, lift up to 40 lbs. normal, up to 70 lbs. less than 10% of time.Seeing Frequently reads various documents and operates computer and other office tools / databases / equipment.Talking and Hearing Frequently communicates with colleagues, co-workers, and customers.
