Waialae Country Club has an opening for a Casual Racquet Sports Court Attendant / Instructor at our private, beachside Club; Home of the Sony Open in Hawaii!
The Racquet Sports Court Attendant / Instructor is responsible for maintaining the Club's racquet sports facilities; ensuring a clean and safe environment for members / guests; and providing high-quality instruction to players of all skill levels. This is a casual position, which will be scheduled less than 20 hours per week.
Job Duties :
- Maintains working knowledge of tennis / pickleball (scoring, rules, code of conduct, etc.).
- Performs routine court maintenance such as removing leaves from tennis / pickleball courts; daily brushing of tennis / pickleball area; putting court furniture in proper area per opening / closing procedures; and maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment.
- Monitors play at the tennis / pickleball courts; Enforces tennis / pickleball rules and regulations; and enforces policies and procedures of The Club.
- Provides tennis / pickleball lessons as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.
- Under the direction of the Director of Racquet Sports, assists in weekly / monthly / annual schedule of events and clinics to maximize court time usage.
- Facilitates tennis / pickleball play and fills-in when requested by members (only while on duty).
- Acknowledges members and guests as they arrive and leave the pro shop.
- Responds to member inquiries and questions; answers pro shop phone line; and maintains member / guest register.
- Helps market Club events.
- Processes retail sales and assists Director of Racquet Sports with maintaining inventory.
- Assists with daily billing to members accounts; keeps accurate log of cash sales and reconciles with the accounting department.
- Under the director of the Director of Racquet Sports, plans and organizes junior tennis clinic programming; and manages attendance log.
- Stocks adequate supplies on-hand : towels, toiletries, bottled beverages, etc.
- Performs opening / closing routine per operating schedule and assures Hale Ohana Ola facility is secured. Operates and reports malfunctions of the alarm system.
- Operates night lights efficiently.
- Informs the Director of Racquet Sports when repairs are needed and submits work orders to the maintenance department.
- Maintains current knowledge of Club tennis / pickleball activities (i.e, events, Jr. programs, etc.,).
- In conjunction with the Director of Racquet Sports, creates tennis / pickleball related content for The Club's monthly member newsletter.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports.
Qualifications :
Starting Pay Rate : $15.00 per hour plus lesson commissions.
