What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Counselor I position at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the delivery of counseling and psychotherapy to patients of WCCHC’s integrated pain management clinic. This position will provide clinical evaluation and interventions and will participate in the Department’s intake and screening services. The counselor is expected to function as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As such, the mental health counselor is expected to work within the program directives set by funding sources, within the philosophical framework set by the Board of Directors, and within the existing network in the community.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. Master’s Degree in a human service field required
2. Two years’ experience preferred
3. License preferred or must be working towards licensure
4. Specific training in clinical work and substance abuse counseling required
