POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Business Development Leader reports to the Business Development Manager and works closely with Account Managers, Service Operations, Client Services, Contracting, and Accounting Departments.
The Business Development Leader is responsible for:
- finding and establishing new client relationships and growing our book of business;
- positioning Waibel Energy Systems as the preferred provider of all HVAC service and equipment, controls, security, plumbing and contracting solutions;
- Selling all Waibel Energy Systems products and services with an emphasis on Mechanical, Controls, Plumbing, Security, Energy, Client Services agreements, Repair Services, Equipment and Control system upgrades.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Three to five years related business development or sales experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office products and office equipment.
- Experience with prospecting and setting meetings with potential clients – cold calling.
- Experience in reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals.
- Experience in effectively understanding and presenting technical information, and responding to questions from groups of customers, managers, and the general public.
- Experience calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, proportions, percentages, and working with concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
- Experience attending networking events and qualifying leads.
- Successful completion of sales-specific training programs preferred.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calls on individuals responsible for facility operations and maintenance. Qualifies real opportunities without tying up resources. Establishes meetings for Account Managers and other key associates.
- Builds relationships with key decision makers with financial and budgetary control for facility planning, economic efficiency and physical changes (upgrades, expansions, etc.). Focus on new client relationships and growing our book of business.
- Track opportunities and report your Business Development progress is critical.
- Serves as initial contact for new customers, assuring customer awareness of and access to all Waibel Energy Systems products, services, and solutions.
- Participates in customer informational or entertainment activities, both group and individual (i.e., trade shows, lunches, golf, etc.). This role must be visible in the market.
- Ability to evaluate (independently and with building owners and others) existing facility systems, and proposes service agreements, maintenance programs, equipment and controls upgrades, and other potential solutions to meet the building owner’s needs.
- Ability to prepare (independently and with others) estimates, proposals, service agreements, and other documents to complete a sale.
- Ability to prepare and delivers presentations to facility owners and management personnel to influence buying decisions.
- Ability to close orders for all Waibel Energy Systems products, services and solutions.
- Provides essential information to all Waibel Energy Systems business unit operations groups. Prepares (with others) required business reports to support company programs and initiatives.
- Works with other associates in various marketing activities, such as training programs, trade shows, etc. to promote Waibel Energy Systems and BuildingLogiX.
- Participates on various program teams within the company, helping to advance strategic initiatives important to profitable growth.
- Attend bi-weekly sales meetings.
- Maintain Outlook calendar and update CRM.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Valid Driver’s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in the previous 5 years
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends if needed
- Ability to follow Safety Guidelines including working with heights and tight working conditions. Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
- This position requires working in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
- Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely

- Regular Travel Requirements generally within 2-hours
- Occasional Overnight Travel Required
- Flexibility to work after-hours and weekends as required.
- This position is approximately 60% - 80% out of the office, in customers’ offices, jobsites or equipment rooms.
- Occasionally requires working outdoors and in mechanical/equipment rooms.
- A regular workday requires sitting, standing, walking, and using hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone.
- Occasional climbing required.
- Good speaking, hearing and vision required
