POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Controls Project Manager is responsible for coordination of Service Projects and Contracting Projects within the Controls Divisions.
Directing
- Coordinate with the Controls Business Leader to create long- and short-term plans.
- Delegating tasks on projects to associates best positioned to complete them.
- Work with the Controls Project Administrator to review budgets for projects and release BOM to be processed.
- Approve subcontracts, assign PO numbers, and develop and follow-up on change orders.
- Scheduling and coordinating with sub-contractors.
Progress
- Communicating with Controls Technicians on project schedules.
- Weekly updates on project progress.
- Manage revised budgets for projects.
- Review project hours for integration and electrical.
- Manage request for information (RFIs) to the engineer.
- Attending weekly on-site job meetings.
- Project Closeout
- Create warranty dates.
- Verify project scope has been completed.
- Prints are updated through as-built drawings.
Material Management
- Making sure Controls Technicians have proper tools and information to complete work.
- Working with the Controls Project Administrator on ordering material for jobs.
Financial
- Working on percent completes with the Controls Business Leader and Accounting.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent time management, planning, and resource management and follow-up skills.
- Ensure projects are within budget and communicate issues that impact the budget.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent field experience.
- Advanced computer knowledge and effective use of Microsoft Office tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Valid Driver’s License with no major traffic violations, suspensions, or DUI’s in the previous 5 years
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends if needed
- Ability to follow safety guidelines, including working with heights and in tight working conditions. Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
- This position requires working in diverse conditions, including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms, with exposure to noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and the risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
