Waikiki Health is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist.
Pay rate for this role is $84,000 annually.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40-hour week, some Saturdays

Under the direction of a provider and/or director, the Dental Hygienist will assist and support the dentist in providing care and treatment of patients by taking radiographs when needed, periodontal probing and charting of soft tissue, providing oral prophylaxis, periodontal therapy and educating patients. The hygienist will also be expected to aid in maintaining dental instruments, equipment, and operatories when needed.
Qualifications and abilities
- Successful completion of a dental hygiene associates degree or higher from an institution accredited by the American Dental Association.
- Current State of Hawaii Dental Hygiene license required as well as the current continuing education requirements to maintain licensure.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, community members, and staff members.
- Proficient in computer skills: typing, navigating through the internet and emails.
- OSHA training.
- CPR certified.
General Duties include but are not limited to
- Performs oral prophylaxis by removing calculus, plaque, and staining from teeth by using an ultrasonic cleaner and hand instruments.
- Performs safe delivery of local anesthesia.
- Measures periodontal probing depths and complete periodontal charting.
- Completes and follows up on patient referral forms.
- Apply preventative materials to teeth such as fluoride and sealants as indicated.
- Educates patients on proper oral hygiene home care as well as answers any questions pertaining to oral health.
- Counsel patients on nutrition habits that promote optimum oral health.
- Document treatment, procedures, and education that is performed.
- Organizes and maintains supplies in the operatories and in the Dental Clinic
- Maintains a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures.
- Sterilizes, prepares, and maintains dental instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned
