Are you a dynamic and experienced professional with a passion for creating memorable events? The Waikiki Yacht Club is seeking a dedicated Banquet and Events Coordinator to drive our event sales, deliver exceptional client experiences, and uphold our reputation as one of Hawaii's premier venues.
Position Overview:
As our Banquet lead, you will promote the club’s dining and event facilities for private banquets, business and social gatherings, and member-related activities. You’ll build lasting relationships with clients, coordinate with the club’s operations team, and ensure every event exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Client Relations:
- Promote event facilities to maximize bookings.
- Conduct client tours and highlight the club’s unique amenities.
- Collaborate with clients to plan events, customize menus with the Executive Chef, and develop detailed contracts and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
- Build and maintain a database of past and potential clients, actively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Event Planning & Coordination:
- Act as the primary liaison between clients and the club’s operations team.
- Coordinate event details with dining room, kitchen, and housekeeping staff.
- Arrange special services, including decorations, entertainment, and parking.
- Budgeting & Reporting:
- Assist in developing annual catering sales budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance and prepare revenue and profitability reports.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to drive event bookings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of catering sales, banquets, or event planning experience, preferably in a private club or hotel setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in event planning software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and multitasking ability.
- Knowledge of current food and beverage trends and service standards.
