Sushi Chef

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our small family owned team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality, adhering to food safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food service industry. (Experience desired but not required. Will train)
• Strong knowledge of food handling, food safety, and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques related to sushi preparation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
