We are seeking a hands-on Software Product Manager that specializes in software product management or a coupled software/hardware product line. In this position, you will directly impact the product and feature roadmap of Waites’ SaaS software platform that connects our hardware and services. This platform serves the largest installed base of wireless sensors in the industry, used by both end customers and by Waites’ internal teams. Reports to: Chief Product Officer
Location: Must live in Cincinnati metro area (or be willing to relocate)
Office Location: Queens Gate area of Cincinnati, OH
Onsite Requirements: Onsite, remote flexibility as needed
Travel: 10% travel required to customer sites or trade shows

Job Description
This position will give you the opportunity to work on:

Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Develop and own the software product roadmap, balancing long-term vision with short term priorities.
- Conduct customer research, market research, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities.
- Define and prioritize software features and improvements across Waites’ platform. This includes both specifying stand-alone software features and partnering with hardware product managers who are launching new sensors and data streaming services to the market.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- This role requires you to collaborate with many internal and external partners. You will need to understand their needs/priorities, many of which will conflict, and to chart a path forward that best serves the customer and aligns with our strategy.
- The most important partner is the Waites customer. You will need to clearly understand their needs, and champion them within the Waites’ organization.
- Internal partners include Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Product Management, Operations, Sales, Customer Support, and Finance.
- In addition to our customers, external partners can include Channel Partners, OEM Partners, System Integrators, and complementary software providers.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in software product management, preferably with SaaS products.
- Experience working with B2B enterprise software solutions.
- Ability to work with and understand technical teams (engineers, developers, QA).
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, API’s & integrations, etc.)
- Experience applying UX design principles and advocating for the best possible end user experience.
- The ability to demonstrate exceptional communication and collaboration skills with a strong focus on delivering a customer-delight experience in every interaction.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Experience with predictive maintenance or condition monitoring.
- Experience with industrial automation technologies.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Physics.
