Are you a bilingual Administrative Professional seeking a rewarding career where you can help the community? If so, we have the perfect career for you on our School Health team! Our school health team works hard to promote the health, safety and educational success of school age children in Wake County by serving students, families and school staff. As our new Administrative Specialist, you will join the administrative team of 3 who provide administrative and clerical support for the WCHHS School Health Program which consists of 120 school nurses, 4 dental hygienists, 2 program managers, and an assistant director of nursing.

Wake County Health and Human Services (WCHHS) is the consolidation of programs and services that include social services, public health, job search assistance, child support, and transportation. Our mission, in partnership with the community, is to facilitate full access to high quality and effective health and human services for Wake County residents. In addition to our numerous standard programs, Wake County Health and Human Services (WCHHS) is engaged in a number of special initiatives that are impacting services and programs throughout our entire agency. The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of administrative/office support experience
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted
  • Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.


Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Experience with Microsoft, Google Drive, Power Point, Excel
  • Budget management experience
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Spanish language skills

Emergency Service Worker Statement

In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
