Pre-K Quality Enhancement Specialist
Wake County Smart Start is seeking a Pre-K Quality Enhancement Specialist to enhance early childhood education by coaching providers, ensuring compliance, and supporting children's social-emotional development. This role focuses on building strong relationships with educators, families, and community partners to create thriving learning environments.
- Hiring Range: $47,861 - $53,444 annually

- Work Environment: This is a hybrid position with in-office meeting and task requirements. There is the ability to work remotely depending on the project schedule set by the supervisor. The position may require occasional work performed outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Pre-K sites for compliance with DCDEE and Wake County Smart Start policies.
- Provide on-site mentoring and technical assistance for developmentally appropriate practices.
- Manage social-emotional learning projects, grants, and community partnerships.
- Support child and site recruitment, administrative tasks, and coordinated support plans.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field.
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Skills: Knowledge of NC Pre-K regulations, Positive Behavior Support, and assessment tools. Ability to write reports and present findings to diverse audiences.
- Certifications: Early Educator Certification (EEC) Level 11 or higher, Technical Assistance Endorsement (TAE) and willingness to obtain relevant certifications.
