The Wake County Health and Human Services Children’s Clinic serves targeted and categorical populations in Child Health and Immunizations. The Child Health Clinics provide comprehensive medical care to children from birth-20yr. and specialty care for developmental and behavioral concerns, dermatology, and for children placed in Child Protective Services or Foster Care. The clinics provide routine health screenings, sick care, immunizations and intermittent exams for daycare, school, sports, and medical necessity. This clinic also addresses specific health issues, such as obesity and post-partum-depression, and assesses high-risk behavior of both clients and caretakers.
The Patient Access Representative is the initial point of contact, setting the process and attitude of the clinic operations. This position provides delivery of high-quality service to the clinic, adheres to program policy with regards to encountering clients and collecting fees. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team all working together to meet the goals of the work area.

Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

Essential Functions Include
- Answer multi-line phone for customer information, appointments and inquiries
- Provide reception duties for the clinic including registration services, greeting patients and customers and ensuring the patients are triaged to the correct location
- Maintain accurate records including medical, financial, and registration
- Utilize NC Tracks, NCIR, Athena and Epic with the ability to navigate, update, and enter data
- Provide referrals to Wake County and Community resources and services
- Maintain office and clinic supplies inventories
- Check-out patients including processing billing through insurance and self-pay patients
- Participate in clinic activities that promote health and well-being of clients and community

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
- Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (oral and written)
- Fluency in Spanish and English Medical Terminology (oral and written)
- Previous experience in medical office setting including check in/check out responsibilities and answering a multiline phone system
- Experience with referrals/referral coordination/follow-ups
- Ability to maintain effective and open communication with all team members in the clinic Knowledge of the medical billing process, including insurance and self-pay clients Ability to access and navigate in NC Tracks, Athena, EPIC and NCIR Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (Software and systems) to meet business needs Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships with co-workers and clients by listening, understanding and responding to identified needs Knowledge of appropriate policies and procedures for day to day management of the financial aspects of the clinic Ability to be relied upon to ensure that projects within the area of responsibility are completed in a timely manner
