Wake County Health Clinics is seeking an experienced Patient Access Specialist to complete our hard-working team focused on providing social support to residents of Wake County who are living with HIV and receiving primary medical care through Wake County Health and Human Services. In this role, you will be the backbone of our team and provide administrative assistance to staff, offer high-level support to managers, serve as the human services liaison, and directly help the public. This position will also assist with general client education regarding Ryan White eligibility requirements, assist clients with completing required Ryan White eligibility application. Work may be confidential and sensitive in nature and ranges from general office support assignments to administrative responsibilities involving decision-making, judgment, and tact. This is a grant funded position.

Emergency Service Worker Statement
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations should be expected. Employee may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours and/or work location in preparation for, during and after the emergency. Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.

What You Will Do Daily To Help Our Community
- Facilitate the Ryan White /ADAP enrollment for clients, Referral Coordination, and provide information regarding community resources such as medical, nutritional and other social support services
- Collaborate with other staff to connect clients with ancillary services required by Ryan White grant recipients and primary medical care
- Provide general client education and information regarding eligibility requirements for care
- Help the public with documentation, referral coordination, and assist with the completion of required eligibility application
- Assure the public receives the care they need by following up on referral orders and care

Required
The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted
- Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume.
- Experience working Ryan White Program and determining eligibility
- Experience working within CAREWare database
- Experience with HIV positive individuals
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Bilingual
- Thorough knowledge of the Ryan White Program
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAREWare
- Excellent customer service experience
- Ability to work with multi-cultural and diverse populations
