What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Faculty Physician- Surgery Oncology position at Wake Forest Baptist Health?
Position details:
- Candidates will need to have completed fellowship training in HPB surgery or Complex General Surgical Oncology with a concentration in HPB surgery.
- The position will focus on all aspects of modern HPB surgery including malignant, benign and urgent clinical conditions (pancreatitis, biliary reconstruction…) and robotic and ablative technologies.
- The Section of HPB Surgery prioritizes excellence in patient-centered care, education, and research focused on equitable, effective, and efficient healthcare delivery.
- The Section of HPB Surgery is supported by inpatient and outpatient advanced care practitioners.
- The Fellowship Council accredited HPB Surgery Fellowship program selects one candidate each year for a two-year clinical and research experience.
- Additionally, there is a one-year robotic HPB surgery fellowship. The Section of HPB Surgery has had the privilege of hosting the annual Americas Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Association Fellows Course for 13 years.

- Candidates should be an academic clinician-researcher at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, possess strong clinical abilities, collaborate in multidisciplinary and multi-professional environments, and aligned to a culture of quality.
- Candidates should be committed to excellent patient care, research, and active in national surgical societies.
- Candidates should also have a strong commitment to the education of residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice professionals (APPs).
