What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Postdoctoral Fellow, Novel Immunotherapeutic Agents position at Wake Forest Baptist Health?
A Postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dawen Zhao in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Wake Forest University School of Medicine to study biological and immunological effects of novel immunotherapeutic agents. Several novel nanoparticle-immunotherapeutic agents have been developed at the lab for treating a variety of diseases ( Nature Nanotechnology 17, 206-216, 2022; Nature Communications 5108, 2019). Our current research focuses are to integrate immunology and molecular biology with nanotechnology to study mechanisms of novel nano-immunotherapeutics and explore their therapeutic potentials in several animal disease models.
Self-motivated individuals with a PhD or equivalent in biomedical sciences and a record of scholarly productivity in medical research are encouraged to apply. Preferences will be given to candidates who have strong experience in immunology, molecular biology, and/or in vitro/in vivo nanoparticle drug/gene delivery . The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to work within a highly interactive and multidisciplinary team to conduct basic and translational research. Salary for the postdoctoral fellow is competitive by following the guidelines stipulated by the National Institutes of Health , and health and retirement benefits are provided.
