What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sonographer, PRN, ECHO, Wilkes Medical Center position at Wake Forest?
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides high quality technical neurodiagnostic ultrasound services appropriate to age of patient, contributing to a positive patient outcome. Maintains cooperative working relationship with other departments and members of the medical system.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
- Successful completion of a postgraduate course in Neuroultrasound or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- One year clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
- Completion of the Registry of Vascular Technologists required or the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography within 18 months of hire.
- Current CPR certification required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs and/or assists in performing quality neurovascular sonography procedures.
- Obtains appropriate data management and documentation and utilizes hospital resources appropriately.
- Communicates in an effective manner to provide efficient and quality services with high customer satisfaction.
- Participates in educational activities to enhance patient care and quality.
- Performs appropriate equipment management including operations and maintenance.
- Utilizes appropriate competencies, guidelines and environment for safe patient care.
- Provides and/developmental appropriate patient care.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses, and other ancillary professional staff when discussing neuroultrasound technology
- Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with public, patients, physicians, and other medical center staff
