What are the responsibilities and job description for the ABI STAFF position at Wake Up, LLC?
WORKING HOURS:
MONDAY - THURSDAY; 12 PM - 5 PM
CAREGIVER MUST DRIVE AND HAVE THEIR OWN CAR
We are seeking compassionate staff members to provide direct care and support to individuals with Acquired Brain Injury. This position requires implementing service plans and other habilitation programs while facilitating and promoting community integration. Candidates must have access to their own insured vehicle for work-related tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that the medical health needs of individuals are effectively addressed. Responsibilities include scheduling doctor’s appointments, providing transportation to those appointments, following through on medical directives, and communicating all pertinent health issues to the supervisor.
- Monitor, observe, and assist individuals with self-medication administration.
- Support individuals in daily activities, which may involve hands-on assistance with personal hygiene as needed.
- Facilitate the development of independent living skills by implementing behavioral goals, teaching strategies, monitoring procedures, exercise programs, and other initiatives as recommended by the team.
- Assist in completing individual assessments as necessary.
- Supervise and assist in meal preparation for individuals, ensuring adherence to prescribed diets and food consistency guidelines. Implement eating procedures as specified, if applicable.
- Provide meaningful community experiences for individuals.
- Maintain the appropriate level of supervision for individuals in the community and at home, aligning with their plans and critical information.
- Document case notes, communication logs, program details, incident reports, abuse and neglect reports, safety reports, mileage forms, and any other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience delivering services to individuals with Acquired Brain Injury, along with a High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
