Purpose Statement:
An Application Architect is responsible for designing and overseeing the development of software applications. They ensure that the applications are robust, scalable, and meet the needs of the business and its users. The Application Architect will also focus on scalability by building reusable solutions, documenting best practices, and creating best practices to support our developers.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions using Java, JavaScript, CSS, Angular, and SQL.
- Collaborate with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver features that meet user needs and business goals.
- Follow best practices and standards for coding, testing, documentation, and code review.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and non-production environments.
- Understand and work with SQL and database structures to ensure efficient data management.
- Oversee the development of applications using COBOL and CICS screens.
- Manage and deploy applications on Linux environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Replenishment Background Preferred
- Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript, CSS, Angular, and SQL.
- Experience with web development, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL and understanding of database structures.
- Demonstrate the aptitude to learn and develop applications using COBOL and CICS screens.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with agile methodologies, code versioning tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and support after-hours deployments.
