Summary
Role of a media planner is not only confined to planning the media for the client but on grounds, they have to manage media dealings, creative’s approval from the client and ensure that the campaign goes on air at the scheduled hour.
The key role of a media planner is to help their client to reach its target audience at the right time at the right place using the right media.
Media planners are data analyzers as well. A regular data study and analysis is required to understand the consumer viewership pattern and the inclination towards a particular type of media. Once the campaign is on air, to understand the success or failure of the launched campaign, the planners take data from various software like Datorama, Google Analytics, Nielsen, Vivvex to understand the market, competitors, and the media consumption habits of the target group.
Establishing different alternatives for Media Plans depending on the client’s preferences.
Critical thinker, with a passion for data analysis, marketing and desire to learn. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills. Looking for creative, resourceful individual with paid media background.
Essential Functions
Produce financial and media plans and forecasts.
Undertake relevant research.
Analyze and interpret data and deliver input on campaign goals, approaches, and methods to help establish success metrics and KPI's
Formulate recommendations through analysis and insight to optimize media plan development
Tag, measure, monitor, analyze, and optimize media programs for ShopRite and other WFC banner stores
Create reporting cadence and templates with actionable insights to help improve campaign performance.
Liaison with clients, consumers and advertising and Social Media teams to populate performance projections for media channels and programs
Prepare client / executive facing decks to showcase quarterly, monthly, and YTD data findings
Produce briefs for media buyers
Market Intelligence : Ongoing investigation of new media and technology
Develop quarterly competitive reports (Numerator with insights) to industry shifts and trends to share with larger team
Qualifications
5-7 years of agency experience - basic understanding of media planning across various channels including digital & social; IAT (inter-agency team) structure is a plus
Creativity in making recommendations / problem solving
Accurate and detail oriented
Exhibit time management skills and the ability to multi task, manage concurrent projects and work successfully under pressure
Ability to interact with all levels of staff
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Solid communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Media Tools knowledge is an asset
