Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the efficient flow of materials, products, and information through the supply chain. You will coordinate logistics activities, optimize transportation routes, and ensure timely delivery of biochar products to customers while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Coordination:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute logistics and transportation activities, including shipments, deliveries, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and customers to optimize logistics processes.
- Transportation Management:
- Arrange transportation services to meet delivery requirements, including trucking, shipping, and warehousing.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or delays.
- Route Optimization:
- Analyze transportation routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Minimize empty backhauls and maximize resource utilization.
- Inventory Control:
- Manage and monitor inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain shipping and inventory documentation, including bills of lading, shipping invoices, and delivery receipts.
- Generate reports on logistics performance, costs, and key metrics.
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, including DOT and environmental regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in logistics regulations and industry trends.
- Supplier and Carrier Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate transportation contracts and rates as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers to provide shipment updates, address inquiries, and resolve issues.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a packaging operator or production role is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery.
- Proficient forklift operation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced production environment.
- Exposure to dust and biochar particles (appropriate personal protective equipment provided).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
