Job Overview:
The Wakefield Police Department is seeking a Part-Time SRO (School Resource Officer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide a safe and secure environment within the school premises, fostering positive relationships with students and staff.
Schedule: Tuesday to Friday 8 AM to 2 PM
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a visible presence on school grounds to deter inappropriate behavior
- Respond promptly to any security concerns or emergencies
- Build rapport with students to promote trust and open communication
- Enforce school policies and regulations in a fair and consistent manner
- Collaborate with school administration, teachers, and local law enforcement when necessary
Experience:
- Knowledge of school safety protocols and crisis intervention techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Flexibility to work part-time hours as needed
The salary range is $25.20 - a salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants must be a NH Part or Full-time Certified Officer. The candidate chosen is expected to successfully complete a physical agility test, oral board interview, psychological examination, medical screen, drug screen, and an interview with the Chief of Police.
