JOB OVERVIEW
The host/hostess is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing dining reservations, and coordinating the activities of dining room staff to ensure prompt and courteous service.

Starting Pay: Negotiable, based on experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following duties are essential to the role; additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
- Manage dining reservations and arrange special services or group accommodations, communicating professionally and courteously.
- Ensure menus are up to date, clean, wrinkle-free, and readily available.
- Greet guests promptly at the maître d' stand, escort them to their table, and provide menus, ensuring the table is properly set before seating.
- Confirm place settings are complete, including clean silverware, napkins, and other standard dining essentials.
- Notify the assigned server once guests have been seated in their section.
- Follow opening procedures each morning and maintain a clean, organized work area for the next shift.
- Handle guest complaints with professionalism, patience, and respect, escalating issues to a supervisor when necessary.
- Oversee dining room operations to ensure efficient service, update seating charts, maintain server rotation schedules, and rearrange tables and seating as needed for special accommodations.
- Process charge vouchers accurately.
- Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors.
- Exercise caution when walking on wet surfaces.
- Report any job-related safety hazards to a supervisor immediately.
