This position provides the care and cleaning of the pets in the shelter kennels. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to feeding, the physical removal and replacement of the pets in the kennels then cleaning the shelter and kennels per the standard operating procedures.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsible for all aspects of the care and cleaning on the weekends and holidays, including but not limited to: feeding the animals in the shelterphysically removing the pets from kennels or cages to outside exercise areasrinsing, scrubbing, disinfecting and drying the pet kennelswashing, disinfecting the food bowls, toys and bedswashing, drying, folding and putting up laundryproviding clean water and clean blankets for the petsreturning the pets to the appropriate clean kennelsassisting the Animal Control Officers and staff with intakes and outcomes, as neededassisting the Animal Control Officers and staff with the administration of medicine, as neededcleaning the shelter offices, bathrooms and outside areasassisting the Animal Control Officers in supervising community service workers and volunteersverifying that every kennel and cage has been cleaned and disinfected per standard operating procedures each day
