Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Yard Truck and City Driver to join our team at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting trailers and delivering merchandise to stores while adhering to all regulations. This is a critical role that requires attention to detail, excellent record-keeping skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Operate tractor/trailers in a safe and correct manner by adhering to all regulations
- Transport trailers to designated locations in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintain records, logs, and forms as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT)
- Perform trailer inventory checks and ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity
Requirements:
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Obtain Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of job entry date and maintain it while employed in this position
- For Yard Driver positions: no more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years; no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
- For City Driver positions: Interstate (Class A) Commercial Drivers License with Hazmat endorsement (including cleared background check) or obtain HAZMAT endorsement within 120 calendar days of hire; minimum of 30 months experience working in a full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving position in the previous 3 years
