Location BENTONVILLE, AR Career Area Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Job Function Data Analytics Employment Type Regular / Permanent Position Type Salary Requisition WD2074104 What you'll do at What you'll do...Position : Senior Data AnalystJob Location : 702 SW 8th Street, Bentonville, AR 72712Duties : Performs data source identification by analyzing functional business domain and scenarios; categories of data and where it is held; business data requirements; database technologies and distributed datastores (e.g. SQL, NoSQL); data quality; existing business systems and processes, including the key drivers and measures of success. Supports the understanding of the priority order of requirements and service level agreements. Helps identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data. Performs data strategy by understanding of business value and relevance of data and data enabled insights / decisions; appropriate application and understanding of data ecosystem including data management, data quality standards and data governance, accessibility, storage and scalability; understands the methods and applications that unlock the monetary value of data assets. Understands, articulates, and applies principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function. Understands business context by analyzing industry and environmental factors; common business vernacular; business practices across two or more domains such as product, finance, marketing, sales, technology, business systems, and human resources and in-depth knowledge of related practices; directly relevant business metrics and business areas. Provides recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develops business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy and develops domain specific artifact. Serves as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and results. Identifies and recommends relevant business insights pertaining to their area of work. Performs tech. problem formulation : analytics / big data analytics / automation techniques and methods; business understanding; precedence and use cases; business requirements and insights. Translates and co-own business problems within one's discipline to data related or mathematical solutions. Identifies appropriate methods / tools to be leveraged to provide a solution for the problem. Shares use cases and gives examples to demonstrate how the method would solve the business problem. Performs data visualization : visualization guidelines and best practices for complex data types; multiple data visualization tools (for example, Python, R libraries, GGplot, Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau, PowerBI etc.); advanced visualization techniques / tools; multiple story plots and structures (OABCDE); communication and influencing technique; emotional intelligence. Generates appropriate graphical representations of data and model outcomes. Understands customer requirements to design appropriate data representation for multiple data sets. Works with User Experience designers and User Interface engineers as required to build front end applications. Presents to and influences the team and business audience using the appropriate data visualization frameworks and conveys clear messages through business and stakeholder understanding.Minimum education and experience required : Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field plus 2 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field; OR Master's degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.Skills required : Must have experience with : Providing recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues by building dashboard using Tableau and Power BI; Leveraging cloud based big data technologies like Hive, Big Query to transform data and answer multi-dimensional business questions; Strategic thinking and understanding holistic perspective from data, analytics, customer insights and team's strategy to drive decisions and suggestions; Researching data issues, developing solutions using legacy as well as cloud Databases (DB2, Teradata, Hive, BigQuery, Azure SQL); Data analytics, mapping, mining, and transformation experience; Building complex queries to use data for data cleaning, discovery, and Visualizations; Application development, enhancement, and maintenance of the code in Mainframe Technologies : COBOL, JCL, Eztrieve, VSAM, CICS, MVS Assembler using Mainframe tools like SORT, FileAid, REXX, Librarian, Schedulers like CA7, Control-M; HR Systems / tools (Workday, Infor, Workbrain, Lawson) and designing integrations between them; HR processes with an expertise in US and Canada Payroll; Payroll and Infor Payroll modules Architecture Design and development, As-is and future state system design; Knowledge management, problem management, incident management, major incident management and root cause analysis; Driving Scrum / Agile ceremonies : Backlog grooming, Sprint review, Sprint retrospective, Spring Planning, Daily stand up, and ensure delivery of the MVP.
