Job Summary
As a Yard Truck Driver, you will operate a Yard Truck to transport trailers safely to designated locations while adhering to all regulations. You must maintain records, logs, and forms, including those required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Additionally, as a City Driver, you will operate a tractor-trailer delivering trailer loads of merchandise to stores. You will maintain records by retaining load-related paperwork, electronic logs, and forms required by the Department of Transportation and other agencies.
Safety, accuracy, and attention to detail are critical in these roles. You will maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Yard Trucks and tractor-trailers safely and correctly
- Transport trailers to designated locations accurately and on time
- Maintain records, logs, and forms, including DOT requirements
- Inspect and maintain trailers to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Operate tractor-trailer units safely and adhere to safety requirements
- Maintain electronic logs and forms required by the Department of Transportation
- Plan routes based on local and state traffic laws and restrictions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid state-issued driver's license for Yard Driver position
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of job entry date for Yard Driver position
- Interstate (Class A) Commercial Drivers License with Hazmat endorsement for City Driver position
- At least 30 months experience in full-time Class A tractor/trailer driving position in the previous 3 years
- No more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol/drugs in the last ten years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
