Quality Assurance Supervisor
Summary/Objective
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for top-level technical quality, validity, and training, as well as other inspections and documentation on project sites. This position reports directly to the QA Manager and the Regional Manager as required.
Essential Functions

- Supervise QA/NDT/NDE Inspectors, sub-contract inspection personnel (when applicable), and monitor the allocation, work quality and quantity.
- Coordination with Project Management, Production, Customers and Third-Party Surveyors as required.
- Preparation of and oversight of Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Reports.
- Review and Certification of Final Documentation for Customers.
- Review and Approval of Subcontractor / Vendor Inspection Reports.
- Provide an interface between Walashek supervision and client inspection personnel. Includes assisting client inspection/engineering personnel in the preparation of plans, drawings, welding procedures, inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Responsible for ensuring that the verification and documentation of all work is being completed to applicable codes, standards and client specifications, and for the planning and control of welding materials, welding procedures and welding operations.
- Perform field inspections.
- Assist in Business Development via company certifications, meetings with potential clients, participate in trade shows and events, and participate in industry meetings.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory of the production employees in regards to Quality Assurance.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and on various job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or what the schedule deems appropriate. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
- High School or GED, Higher education in Marine Engineering disciplines preferred
- At least six years of Quality Control or NDT experience in a Fabrication Shop or a Shipyard.
- Experienced NDT in the following methods not required, but a plus:
- - Visual/Dimensional
- - Dye Penetrant (combination of Type I and Type II)
- - Magnetic Particle (combination of Dry Method & Wet Method)
- Ability to obtain DBIDS for access to USN / DoD Facilities.
- Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
- Possess a valid driver's license
- General inspection measuring and testing equipment.
- General Computer skills MS Word, Excel, etc.
Additional Preferred Eligibility Qualifications
- Knowledge of Welding, Materials and Codes/Specifications preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand codes/specifications, sketches, and technical manuals.
- Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
