We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. Duties
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including planning, logistics, and execution.
- Provide bereavement support to families, guiding them through the decision-making process with empathy and understanding.
- Prepare the deceased for viewing by performing necessary tasks such as embalming, dressing, and casketing.
- Manage the sanitation of facilities and equipment to maintain a respectful environment.
- Assist families in selecting appropriate merchandise and services while providing transparent information regarding costs.
- Conduct meetings with families to discuss their wishes and preferences for memorial services.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as clergy and cemetery staff, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to funeral services and compliance with legal requirements.
- Engage in community outreach activities to promote services offered by the funeral home.
Requirements
- Proven experience in funeral directing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on compassion and empathy.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is beneficial for preparing the deceased respectfully.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during services and preparations.
- Experience in event planning is advantageous for organizing memorial services effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Sales skills are a plus for assisting families in selecting appropriate products and services.
