What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Walden Dental?
Position Summary:
The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dentist in the direct provision of primary care dental services to patients of the health center. The Dental Assistant is also responsible for sterilization, preparation and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.
Required:
MUST present dental knowledge and experience.
A Dental Assistant at Our Best Life will need to:
- Operates dental X-ray equipment to intra- and extra-oral radiographs.
- Takes preliminary impressions for study models, modifying impression tray as needed.
- Dental imaging safety techniques are utilized, and retakes are minimized.
- Demonstrates proper infection control procedures in setting up and cleaning up operatories.
- Maintains dental equipment in a clean and operative condition.
- Sterilize instruments, materials and equipment.
- Prepare operatory for patient treatment.
- Maintain a smooth constant flow of patients from reception to operatories.
- Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after treatment.
- Provide chair side assistance to the dentist and hygienist, as needed, in the concept of four handed dentistry.
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care.
Not required but preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Job Position: Full-Time (Monday-Thursday 8AM- 5PM)
Salary: Competitive Salary ($18-$28/per hour)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
