Description
Skills Trainer : The purpose of this position is to provide an increased level of support and assistance to resource families and foster children with significant behavioral, and / or emotional needs, children with developmental and intellectual disabilities and / or children with spcialized health care needs. Children may be placed in an Intensive Services Foster Care ( ISFC) home or placed in the Walden program for Regional Center consumers.
The services of the skills trainer will be based on an individualized strength based goals developed for each child / youth and informed by the child and family team . Specific responsibilities and duties will vary depending on the, needs / strengths of the child / youth.
The skills strainer will provide additional services to the child / youth identified as benefiting with assistance in improving, maintaining, or restoring their functional skills; including daily living skills, social and leisure skills and hygiene skills.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in the behavioral science field preferred
2. 2 years of experience working with youth- at- risk or dually -diagnosed children / youth in residential community or school settings.
3. Knowledge in behavioral management techniques and behavioral plan implementation
4. Able to establish effective rapport with children, adolescents, resource and birth families.
5. Must possess valid California Driver's License and have a good driving record.
6. Fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearances from the Department of Justice.
7. Must meet all requirements set by Community Care Licensing pertaining to the hiring of employees by a licensed community care facility.
8. Must be available some evenings
Salary Description
20 to $24 an hour
