This person is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations focusing on : Revenue / Billing Contract management and AccountingCollections and Bill paymentSemi-monthly Payroll processingQuickBooks accountingVendor managementRetirement accounts managementEssential Duties and Responsibilities : Accounts Receivable - setting up new families in the system, recording all tuition and fees payments received in QuickBooks, follow up on past due accounts, cash receiptsEnrollment - student contracts, midyear enrollment and withdrawal processing, assisting Director of Finance and Operations with re-enrollment processTuition Adjustment - Reviewing signed contracts for tuition adjustment, contract amendments, recording amended contracts in the systemAccounts Payable - review check requests, check and payment management, store invoice and consignment payments, credit card paymentsPayroll - process semi-monthly payroll, review timesheets for completion and accuracy, send email reminders to hourly employees and supervisors, process expense reimbursements, record journal entries for payroll, vacation accrual reports, 941 to QuickBooksBanking - reconcile all checking and investment accounts, follow up on stale dated checksOther tasks - Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts, workers compensation audit, prepare worksheets for auditors, ACA reports, 1099 for contractors, data & file cleanup and other duties as assignedJob Requirements and Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or FinanceStrong experience in bookkeeping and / or accounting and financeNon-profit / Independent School sector experience preferableRequires solid knowledge and understanding of accounting principlesHighly detail oriented, well-organized, flexible, and collaborative individual who enjoys working in a team-driven environmentAble to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while always maintaining a customer service focusCommon sense, professional decorum, and clear and concise communication skills are critical due to regular interaction with parents, faculty, administrators, and business partnersPaycom or similar experience preferredSmart Tuition Experience PreferredProficient in QuickBooksProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and WordProficient in Google applications, including Gmail, Google Sheets and Google DocsIn-person attendance necessary to provide effective performance during normal business hoursBenefits and Compensation : Waldorf School of the Peninsula provides medical, dental, and vision coverage for the employee and their dependents. A generous tuition remission benefit is available for children of the employee, 19 holidays, and 3 weeks vacation.
