Overview
We are seeking dedicated and passionate 8th Grade Long Term Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. This position can start immediately and will end on June 4, 2025. As a Long-Term 8th Grade Substitute Teacher, you will teach 8th grade English and will be responsible for delivering lesson plans and managing classroom behavior.
Responsibilities
- Teach English to 8th Graders
- Prepare and deliver presentations on topics such as poetry, novel structure, grammar and usage, and effective writing styles
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
- Initiate, facilitate and moderate classroom discussions
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives to students
- Prepare course materials such as plans, homework assignments, and handouts
- Prepare, administer, and grade tests, papers and other assignments in order to evaluate students' progress
- Maintain students attendance records, grades and other required records
- Communicate professionally with parents and colleagues
- Manage classroom behavior to ensure a conducive learning environment
Requirements:
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification and required Background Clearances
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study
-Ability to perform lesson planning based on provided materials
- Experience in classroom management and working with diverse student populations.
