What are the responsibilities and job description for the Renewals Specialist position at Walker and Associates?
The Renewals Specialist is expected to manage our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) support agreement renewals process by coordinating with all necessary departments within the organization and any OEM partner representative to complete their renewal quotes efficiently and effectively. Goal is to increase company maintenance renewal rates with customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Prepare OEM renewal quotes/responses to meet/exceed customer requirements to influence the customer of the competitive advantage of corporation’s value-added services.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results to meet/exceed customer requirements and the corporation’s policies and procedures.
- Proactive measures will be used to ensure renewal deadlines are met and responses are submitted in accordance with the customer’s directives
- Compile information on upcoming renewals to stay up to 90 days ahead of renewal expiration date
- Complete quotes in Walker Insight Tool as accurately as possible and submit final response to sales.
- Prepare previous history data to support recommendations to sales on selling prices. Accurately translate all selling prices based upon Sales final approval of margins.
- Follow Walker Essentials Guidelines for quoting process in regard to Quotation Level Approvals including Gross Sales/Revenue thresholds and Margin levels.
- Prepare reports as necessary for Sales Management and ODEV review.
- Follow quote to order process on all awarded quotes by having special pricing loaded in the Walker system and entering all orders to validate accuracy of customer purchase order to Walker purchase order process.
- Follow up with regularly with the internal departments, external customers, and OEM representatives to ensure quote outcome.
- Log completed quotes in the QST/Renewals Job Log. Record final award, if won or loss and gross profit by manufacturer. Perform post bid follow-up.
- Cross train with Quote Specialist Team to provide back-up and workload assistance
Experience/Education/Skills |
- Aggressive individual with initiative and the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skill is imperative.
- Must possess excellent communications skills; written and verbal.
- Must be detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking large volumes of work.
- Ability to: (1) Type; (2) Use a 10-key calculator.
- PC experience in Windows environment required; Intermediate Excel knowledge necessary.
