This position provides administrative support to the SVP & Chief Underwriter and the Underwriting department.
Primary Responsibilities
Underwriting Support
- Proactively assist the GSE Underwriting team
- Prepare engagement letters for third party vendors that accurately indicate property information, timing of the delivery of the reports, and cost for the respective assignment
- Prepare third party release letters for execution
- Process invoices from third party vendors for department approval and payment
- Update the Salesforce database to ensure accurate tracking of expense balances and records for individual deals
- Create and manage all relevant information in Salesforce and Outlook, including third party vendor information
- Run credit searches, including FRM reports, for individuals and entities as required by the underwriters
- Assist with travel coordination for the and expense reporting for the Chief Underwriter(s) and GSE Underwriting team.
- Partner with IT and office services to ensure Underwriting new hires have essential equipment in their workspace on their first day and ensure all new hire paperwork is completed and submitted for processing
- Organize and schedule departmental meetings and events as requested by Deputy and Chief Underwriters.
- Organize and schedule weekly calls with Fannie Mae and distribute Fannie Pre-Review list.
- Prepare, review, and edit general correspondence, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc. for accuracy and final copy.
- Review and prepare reports and documents as required, often on short notice; run Underwriting reports and compile background documents as necessary for meetings
- Process loan applications utilizing Salesforce including reviewing application for compliance with WD requirements
- Schedule and organize loan committee meetings and distribute loan committee packages
- Organize and schedule pipeline call and distribute pipeline report
- Manage departmental PTO and travel calendar
- User Registration for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac IT systems
- Process security key-card access to building and workspace arraignments for visiting underwriting staff
- Attendance is generally 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST Monday through Friday with the ability to work up to 2 of those days remotely
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
- Strong business sense and ability to prioritize work as well as to find solutions to various problems while managing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, judgment, flexibility, and dependability.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with ease while maintaining a positive attitude.
- High level of interpersonal skills and maturity to handle sensitive and confidential information. Position continually requires poise, tact, diplomacy, and initiative.
- Ability to work as a part of a team, while providing a strong individual contribution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with contact management systems (e.g., Outlook, Apple Products, Salesforce, SharePoint).
- Interest in or experience with Commercial Real Estate Finance preferred.
- Ability to show ownership of your work, take on challenges and acknowledge growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience when learning new processes.

Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
